Pastor Wilder continues the series “Christ in Culture” from 1 Corinthians 6:1-8, the main points are as follows:
Three ways to interpret 1 Corinthians 6
Lawsuits against anyone is a problem
Forbids any and all lawsuits against anyone who profess to be Christians
Forbids covenant Christians from other covenant Christians over material things
1 Corinthians 6:6
One covenant believing taking another covenant believer to law over material things
1 Corinthians 6:3-4
We are going to law with people who aren’t Christians
Why are you going to the unjust?
Why are you unwilling to be defrauded for the covenant?
Do you not know the saints judge the world?
Is there anything in this world more important than the covenant community?
Are unworthy to judge the smallest things?
1 Corinthians 6:5
Reveals to them the shame
Reveals to them that you are immature
Reveals that you can’t suffer
There are moral issues
1 Corinthians 6:7
You have the option of taking wrong (speaking of moral issues)
Try to settle
Do things as to the Lord is the most important thing that we can do
Enhances ability to serve Christ
